Help me ID these speakers!

I got these as a pull from a Fisher console, I think from the late '60s (not sure). Very cool, with two directional tweeters mounted over the woofers. No brand ID on them at all. The label on the bell says "Made in Western Germany".

So what the heck are they?

So with drivers like these, what would be the recommendations for a cabinet? Probabaly wouldn't need anything big. Ported?

See if you can get your hands on an empty Bozak cabinet. They used very similar drivers in infinite baffle cabinets - they (the Bozaks) are very large, however. Those are some really cool speakers. I am tempted to use something like that (if I can ever find any) as a ceiling mount for the fronts on a home theater. The ceiling would act as the perfect infinite baffle. I wonder how the selectable impedance works - are extra voice coil windings available, kind of like a multitap transformer?

Your close, its more to keep the back wave from canceling out the front wave and removing all bass response. I'm sure there are parameters to OB, i do not have them. The bigger the board the better bass response. You also want to slightly offset the hole from center.

Search the web for "open baffle speaker design" or the such, gobs of info out there.

This kind of design seems to work well (that little board center top seems to be important on many designs)...
