I'm trying to reassemble the first "hi-fi" setup my family had when I was a kid. My older brother built the amp and tuner from kits. We know the amp was a Scott 200. Finding the tuner has mystified us.
The tuner was a kit, FM-only, silver front with full-face dial and fairly simple controls. From memory we know it looked a lot like the Dynaco FM-5. But according to my research, the FM-5 didn't come out until 1971 and was solid state. We're positive that he built it closer to 1965 or so.
I've looked at Eico, Scott, Heathkit and Dynaco and couldn't find anything close. For some reason the name Rogers comes to mind - but I can't find anything, and I don't know if Rogers made kits.
Any suggestions? Guesses?
