Help with Refoaming Pioneer HPM-900

Hello guys ,

I am confused about selecting a repair kit for my HPM-900

Both sellers describes the item to be an original kit for the exact model but when i checked the measurements for both items i notice a difference !!

Measure the inside and outside diameter of the original foams.. Even if They are completely gone, you can still see the glue lines...

Yeah, these foams clearly have different measurements by 1/8" or so. The best way might be to check your CONE diameter, one of these is for a 9-1/4 cone, the other for a 9-5/8 cone. That's a big enough difference that there should be no question. I usually try to measure it a couple different times in case my tape didn't go directly over the center of the circle.

Pioneer may have changed the driver they were using at some point. ?

Outer Diameter 293mm
Inside Diameter 270mm
Cone Diameter 235mm

so this one is the correct kit for me but i need to trim the outer a little .

Hmmm... I'm not sure if you should need to trim them at all. Maybe call the company before you order, or at least send a message through eBay. The listing itself may be incorrect.

These are a MAJOR pain to do. super brittle graphite combined with the hardest glue residue know to man.

Well , i sent him a message but he didn't reply , anyway i ordered repair kit from alixpress with cheap price it has the exact measurements .

No; but most any PVA glue (Elmer's or another tacky brand) will work. If you use Elmer's (or something similar that is available) it will be thinner, so not as fast drying.

That'l work. You just need to be careful because it is so much thinner..
There are some here that might have advice on how to best use it.

That Liquid Nails is a thick sort of caulk-like adhesive. It actually comes in a caulk tube for construction adhesive applications. It's really too thick for refoaming.
