Help with the 919 and anyone got a spare npn ?

And remember folks, want ads are not allowed in this forum, subscribe and go to Bartertown for that. Without Bartertown, and subscribers, there would be no AK.

My dilema was regarding these as they are listed in the service manual as 3pf these are 1pf radial polystyrene capacitors unless i'm mistaken (010f). My question was - would the amp be better served by upping these to 3pf silver mica's ? I haven't replaced these ! i have no way of knowing if they were factory fit or changed by someone else !

If we agree that Polystyrene = styrene, styroflex, styrol, a look at the AU-919 schematic labels C24 (for example) on driver board as 'styrol' dielectric.

Parsnip's C24 etc is definitely polystyrene (nice ones too).

Still not definitive proof that the Black Flags themselves are polystyrene, but it's a close call at the least.

Nevertheless - if it were me, I would replace those fragile capacitors with silver mica or ceramic, and correct the value inconsistencies at the same time.
