I recently found a Pioneer SX 980 but no tuning knob on it try it online to find the part number AAA 047 but it is not on there was wondering if I could use the 50 Series tuning knob over 950? And if not what could I use and what are comprable thank you for your help.

The XX50 and XX80 series tuning knobs are not the same, your unit shares the same knob with the 1280 and 1080. You can use a XX50 series knob, but it will not match the rest of the knobs.
 
Oh good I don't mind if they don't match I'm glad that one will work from the 50 Series thank you for your help!
