Looking at a marantz NA6006 but reviews of HEOS on the App Store are not good. Does anyone here have any experience using it?

I inherited a Marantz NR1200 Receiver, which has a HEOS function and although I am intelligent enough to operate the 2.1 Receiver connected to my Turntable, DAT Recorder, Compact Cassette Recorder, CD Changer, and Airplay devices, I do not understand what HEOS is, or what it does. Here's why, the Marantz does not come with a manual so downloading one is necessary and it's over 200 pages. So far, I have not been interested in the HEOS feature enough to do that downloading or reading of manual to get a sense of HEOS. I suspect that others, many others, are about as lazy as me, or having purchased Marantz or Denon electronics for a specific traditional role do not have an interest in the HEOS feature. I'm going to stick around here to see what I can learn about HEOS.

I think you will learn nothing because that is what HEOS is I have moved on and bought an Apple iPad mini and connected it to the USB port on my Marantz SA-KI SACD and no longer have interest in exploring a music streamer from Marantz.

HEOS is one of the few options that allows streaming Amazon Ultra content. I thought about it briefly before getting a Node which is far more user friendly.

i recently got a Denon 2ch receiver w/HDMI for use with my TV. what a great, punchy, solid sounding device through Sonus Faber Venere speakers. it also has HEOS, and, like the OP, i found it indecipherable and unnecessary.

I quick Google search yielded

HEOS (Home Entertainment Operating System) is a wireless multi-room audio platform from Denon. It's featured on select wireless speakers, receivers, and soundbars from the Denon and Marantz product brands. HEOS works through your existing Wi-Fi home network.Aug 30, 2021

It's a closed system from those two manufacturers. Personally, I wouldn't bother with it.

HEOS takes a little effort to set up, but once you do, you will love it. It’s the easiest way to stream all the TUNE IN stations, plus the other pay ones.
I started with Marantz NA6006 and was amazed at the sound quality, so I upgraded to a 30N. I stream with the HEOS app ninety percent of the time, it’s addictive.

My Marantz ND8006 uses HEOs - I dig it. I use Amazon HD Music and it streams the UltraHD stuff - sounds fantastic. I mostly remote control via the HEOS app on my iPad.

Do you have to subscribe to Amazon music to get the UltraHD stuff, or will the regular prime do it ?
