Hey Pioneer Fans! I scored a nice setup--FOR FREE! LOL!

Big Tuna

Too Much Power!
YEP! I just didn't think it was all that great, but when I got it all together and hooked it up in my bedroom I was amazed at how superb it sounds! A SA-7500II with matching tuner TX-6500II. The tuner is so strong it picks up stations WITHOUT an antenna! Speakers are the graphite coned HPM-500's although the woofs have been replaced with HPM 60's by myself since my refoaming the original graphite's ended in shame with one woof destroyed:( But, all in all the graphite tweets and poly ribbon super tweets sound unbelievably clean. and those HPM 60 woofs seem to love the 500's beefier croosover:) I am debating about whether or not to sell it, but I just don't know yet. I may find myself hooked on the superb acoustics, lol!:thmbsp:

Nice catch for free. :thmbsp: How did you manage that ?

Sorry to hear about the refoam fiasco though.

Thanks man, I did have to buy the HPM 60 woofs for the cabs but they were cheap:)

I got the 500's from Dan(Cosmos) when he came to my home to pick up a pair of JBL 250Ti's that I picked up for Dave Newman back in February. I took them instead of cash:) And the 7500 Amp & 6500 tuner were given to me by my boss at the car wash from his sister's Husband. They were cleaning out their old storage shed and he just asked me(since he knew I am into vintage stuff) if I would like it. I said, for free?! and he said,:D sure! I went, whoa!! At first I thought it was going to be a SX-1080 but it was not. Who's complaining, I sure as heck ain't, lol!

I have an SA-6800 Integrated Amp and TX-6800 Tuner. They are currently my bedroom setup. The amp has been recapped for preventative maintenance reasons due to age and the tuner is untouched as I don't want to mess up the alignment. Although the tuner is not the most sensitive, it does a really good job with stereo separation and overall clean sound even on weak signals.

thats a sweet grab

You guys are going to have to quit bragging up the mid-sized Pioneer SA Amps and TX Tuners, otherwise the prices are going to start going up!

When i won my SG-9500 on the bay, it was in a combo sale along with an SA-6500II and TX-5500II so the averaged price for all was CHEAP!!!!! and all i really wanted was the equilizer. well, the othres work GREAT and i'm not sure what i'll end up doing with them.
