HH Scott 375R Reciever

First post here and scored a Scott 375R Reciever in perfect working order at a great price. Previous owner did a little maintenance like de-oxing the pots and cleaned out the boards. I haven't had a reciever in years. Actually last reciever I had was a Marantz and that was during high school. I'm an Amp/Preamp/tuner/etc kind of guy now, so I'm sure this will be a fun project to fiddle with. I'll do a thorough exam and check all the caps and such. I wouldn't be surprised if the tuner display read-out doesn't work properly and these are known issues with the ribbons. Can't wait to make it bleed!

It's here! Got it sooner than expected. Has a few issues I just noticed:
Faceplate is loose. Seller said he fixed it
Selector switch is a little touchy. Have to jiggle it for the left channel to kick in
Lamps on the face are out
Inside is dirty as hell. Seller said he cleaned it out with an air compressor. Dunno how true that is. Looks like he made an attempt, but it's far from clean.

All the inputs work, and with my tablet and a pair of Boston A60's on it, sounds really good.
Needs TLC and I found a donor for the cosmetics and other things I may need.

Overall, I'm happy with it and I give it a 7.8 out of a 10

I have a 385R in the kitchen right now with Aegis One speakers and it sounds very nice. It hasn't had any problems with the display and I never noticed if the dial lights are working. I picked it up for free a few years ago and plan to keep it along with a few other Flouroscan receivers including my Sansui G-8700DB I've had for 40 years.

What a fluster cluck Someone has already been inside of it and it looks like it was10 year old, OMFG! It's a miracle it actually works. Seller said he deoxit on the pots, but he forgot to mention he used a whole farkin can! Even the bottom plate was leaking! Looked at the bottom PCB board and it looks like the 10 year old used a metal brush to scrape away at the pcb traces. Solder joints was done by the same person sloppy as hell. The selector switch was touchy even after he flooded it with deoxit. I used CRC contact cleaner and it working perfectly now.

I'm not happy and will be sending this back. It works, but there's even some short in the tuner display that even when it's switched to AUX, the tuner display shows "Signal" and "FM Tuning". Dunno if that's normal or not. Tuner display chip cap is also missing.

mine always displays Signal and FM tuning, when switched to anything other than FM or AM the numbers disappear but signal and FM tuning stay, could be a problem but hasn't effected anything.

Ahhh, gotcha. Never seen that before so I thought it was a short. I did notice a break in the display ribbon that has affected lots, but I see it hasn't affected this one. The display works as it should and the tuner, when enabled, shows the stations when adjusting.

Well I had to mount it into service today. My Fisher CA880 is having the "Slap me so I can work" issue and today I went slap happy and it wouldn't kick in. Before I would slap it once and I would hear slight static along with the relay kicking in at the same time and voila. Not today. I was getting the Scott 375R packed up for it's return trip, but I had no choice but to put it into service in my livingroom. It works fine with zero issues, I'm just alittle perplexed of what I saw (and posted with the pics) of the savagery done to it. I've got a 30day no questions asked warranty from the seller, so I'm peeking around fleabay to see what I can pick up to replace the CA880 and send the 375R back before the 30 days is up.
