HH Scott 399 help

Hi, I'm new to tube audio. I have an HH Scott 399 that I've been using for a few weeks. Today when I started playing records I had the selector switch on stereo and I was only getting sound out of the right side. I moved the selector switch to CH B, AM and only then did I get sound out of both channels. Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks

Selector B sends the B channel only through both outputs (speakers). Check the selector positions at stereo and reverse. If the music switches sides, check your turntables RCA jacks. I assume it plays through both speakers when selected to mono?

Thanks. I did switch the RCA jacks and I did have very low output from the right side but there was a strong hum.
