Nice pick-up on some great sounding speakers. I actually had to pay for mine. 
On the plus side, they were from the original owner, and he had all of the surrounds re-done by Orange County Speaker Repair. If you haven't seen it yet, I've added a copy of the A-400 brochure in another thread on AK. Here it is again.

As for the surrounds: I've just cleaned off all the surrounds and gaskets and glue off all the baskets, and I'm getting close with the foam/glue left on the cone. No matter what I do it seems that there's still a thin layer of foam stuck onto the outer rim of the cone, is this bad? Can I glue the new surrounds over this?

Jeez, these are fabulous speakers
I finished replacing all the surrounds today and oh my, I am pleasantly surprised. I haven't pushed them as far as I'd like to (blahblahblah "IM READING AND YOU'RE SHAKING THE HOUSE." Some people have no respect for music) but so far they sound like a huge improvement over my last pair (BPC). I'm only using them for music as a stereo pair right now, but I'm considering sticking a pair of B.A. satellites in the back and checking out how that works for surround sound on some movies (though I definitely will need a new receiver for that).
