What a hoot, you find little gems too now and then. For a buck and a half I picked up a Telarc Blues CD “The Muddy Waters Tribute Band-You’re Gonna Miss Me(When I’m Dead and Gone)”. What a talented cast: Willie “Big Eyes” Smith, Luther “Guitar Jr.” Johnson, Jerry Portnoy, Joe Willie “Pinetop” Perkins, Calvin “Fuzz” Jones, and “Steady Rollin Bob Margolin, with guest artists Gregg Allman, James Cotton, Buddy Guy, Levon Helm, Koko Taylor, Junior Wells, Peter Wolf and Sonny Landreth on slide guitar and Billy Branch on harmonica. The little Sherwood and Wharfedales really dig this music, I swear there is something to playing period music on vintage gear, if you don’t get up and dance you’re dead! What a great way to warm up for a bike ride, hope you’re all having a great afternoon.
