Hooray! An estate sale company that lists prices!

That crap is all over New England...and you can spot it a mile away at any flea market. The Heywood Wakefield factory (in Gardner, Ma) has been converted into really nice condos!

I don't usually dig that style but it's done tastefully yet modest imo.

I don't understand why they don't post prices. If you have a massive line of people showing up all you do is end up pissing off the non-die hards and losing customers versus disclosing the prices and limiting budget minding customers.

Most prices are posted . . . You have to tap on the pics to get them. And IMO there are outrageous for flea market grade furniture.

I will stick to my auctions and local estate sales . . . Much more reasonable.

Where is the audio gear? Are we now schlepping for non-audio furniture on AK?

No,most prices are not posted ! That's why Dave is championing the idea. He's not schlepping for anything ! . :thumbsdn:
I'd like you to link to another estate sale that is posting their prices please.

+1

It's rare to see  Hell most wont even tell you the price over the phone

Yet somehow items that pictured somehow vanish before the sale starts. There was a case of this recently when one sale pictures a tube marantz amp and pre-amp and when word got out they removed the items from the listing. "No prices postes/no pre-sales!"

I read between the lines and assume they mean "lazy sellers, no prices posted"

If you think Heywood Wakefield furniture is "flea market grade", you may be uneducated on the subject.

Prices seem to be very well aligned with the current market.

But I think the OP's point was "Hey! Estate Sale with published prices! Sure would like to see this trend continue..."

At that price, I hope the end tables sound good.

The end tables sound very good as turntable bases, thank you. This is high quality furniture that was built for the burgeoning middle class of the post war boom era, and was the most popular furniture line in the US for almost a decade. The fact that this 55 year old furniture is featured for sale in a MCM estate in Chicago, and is of the quality that it will easily last for another 55 years, is not lost on a lot of MCM collectors. Our 1957 brick ranch house is filled with this "flea market grade" furniture.

I posted this thread because I would love all estate sales to be forthcoming with the majority of their prices. All other business enterprises take out ads to advertise their prices and stock, so customers can plan for purchases and whether to go here or there. When gas was $2/gallon, and most all estates were concerned with getting product moved, it wasn't a big concern.

But now that a jaunt to three or four estates runs over $20 in gas, and many companies are taking the route of pricing stuff above retail in St. Louis(because the final day is half off), many first day shopping trips are a waste of time and money. Price listings for professional estate sellers are a boon to educate buyers whether to make a trip, and on the first or second day of the sale, or via a phone contact. They put the emphasis on selling the merchandise, minimizing wasted time, and being considerate to buyers.
