How to download from Flickr?

I have a Flickr account with lots of photos. I'd like to be able to attach pictures from Flickr instead of the usual AK method (manage attachments...)

I can't for the life of me figure it out. I know others do it, but how?

Thanks for any advice,
Rick

Go to the page where the image is and right click on the pic, then choose copy image location. Then click on the icon that looks like a mountain with a postage stamp or type (
) without the parentheses . When you move the mouse over it, it will say insert image. click on it and paste the url.

Okay, I'm right-clicking and there's nothing that says "choose image location".

I just don't understand this!

But thanks for trying!

unless you really need to post bigger images than ak allows grumpy said that he'd rather have you post them through ak so that ak has them hosted, this is because if you land up deleting them from your picture hosting site they are also gone from ak.also some of those sites are real slow sometimes loading the pictures.sorry i cant help you with flickr but from photobucket theres a image file that you just copy and paste once you click on inser image from the post reply menu.

You must not be using Firefox. This is with Firefox.

I just checked for IE you need to right click on the pic and select properties and copy the address/url. Here is that.

Thanks, radio. I would use AK most of the time, but sometimes I may feel the need to post a larger photo. And I just want to learn how to do it.

It's confusing. None of the catagories you mention are on the photo when I right-click it. Maybe I need to find the original photo somewhere on Flickr?

Do this... Copy the location of the picture.. like www.flickr.com/photos/mypictures/picturename

Then.. type this.. but leave out the spaces...

url]

However, be warned, doing this with your flickr account is against their TOS, and they may boot you for it. This is why I don't link any of my flickr account photos.. Your photo will get a lot of hits any time anyone opens this thread...

Thanks for the suggestion, Simi, but I won't try that method because of the warning. It's not all that important. After all, I just laid out $25 for a 'Pro' account, and that's big bucks!

If you click on the picture you want to post it will show a list of options above the picture. Click on "ALL SIZES" and then it will enlarge the picture.

Below the picture it will say "2. Grab the photo's URL:"

Right click on the url and then copy it.

Go to the Advanced page on AK to post the picture and click on the "little mountain" that will say "insert image" when you move your mouse over it.

Now right click again and paste it in the pop up that comes up. Make sure you delete the http when the pop up comes up as it already has this in the url you copied and the picture won't come up if it is there twice.

If you want a smaller picture click on the different image sizes on the Flickr page and copy the url from that page.

Okay, did I do it?

edit: no, you dummy.

I 'grabbed the url', then copied and pasted it. There's the url (I guess), but no photo.

waaaa!

Rick,

If you click on Preview Post while in the Advanced mode you will be able to see if it is working or not before you actually post in the thread.

I've had the pro account for a few years myself. I know when I signed up, in the TOS they said you couldn't link photos. You might read the TOS again, they could have changed it.
