How to refill oil in the cue lift damper on a Hitachi PS-48

When I cue up or drop the tone arm I have to really concentrate on slowly lowering the tone arm.
There is no resistance and as such no smooth hampered decent of the tone arm.

I believe I need to refill the oil in the cue damper mechanism however I can not see any entry/application point to refill.
I attached a photo of the cue mechanism. I can't see a place to insert a needle to refill the oil.
Or maybe I need to refill from underneath the chassis?

Any guidance would be appreciated ...Thanks

Might need to take it all apart to see if there is a fill hole, if not, you might need to make one. I would refill it with silicone oil, but no idea what weight.
 
You normally can only do this from the bottom and typically have to do some disassembly to get the cue piston out so you can smear some silicone on it. I've worked on a PS-48 but don't know the specifics of the mechanism.

In some cases you might be able to get a bit coaxed in from the top where the shaft disappears inside but the 300k weight is about as thick as molasses on Mars so it won't exactly flow.
