Hi guys,

Just thought some of you guys would enjoy this site in Yahoo Japan.

I've been looking at Yahoo Japan 'Tube Amps' site now for a couple weeks now lookin for Sansui 'stuff'. Great site for Vintage tube amps and specs sometimes, very cool amps never-the-less.

Sometimes even a Sansui Amp comes up like 'today!' An HPR-200.
VERY COOL!

Yes, it's a preamp. Also the discription says 'AM'.

On one of the Sansui sites in USA, can't remember which one, they have 4 or 5 photos of this preamp but it is discribed as unknown.

I was quite suprised to find it, even see it, really, and especially for sale. Maybe the seller just doesn't know what he has. Ya just don't see any (as in never) of those for sale. Let's see what that goes for. Still watchin that Q-3535 too, just for fun.

I just keep digging on the internet all the time to find 'new stuff' for the book but finding new stuff is really getting darn near impossible to find now, Japanese domestic and international. Things do pop up every now and then but it's really far and few between.

Anyway...Sure is a nice piece of gear! I'd love to have it just for display. That's a piece of early Sansui History, for sure, at the beginning of it all.

bluesky, I'm still waiting for another pair of those monoblocks that went on ePay a month or so ago... Do you remember the model numbers? I knew I should have bought em... I've been kicking myself since I let them go

hi bobforapples,
I'm not sure which mono blocks you are talking about but I did see Q-55 on ePay a couple times in the last year, once very lately, maybe in the last week or two, there was 2 of them (a set) with the covers in good shape too. There was a bunch of really nice fotos to show the amp, inside and out. Does the name Q-55 ring a bell??

Q-55 High-Power mono amplifier (mono-block)
¥25,160 ($69.88)
eBay: $723 Feb08
The Tubes are 2x 12AU7 Matsushita / 2x EL 34 (6CA7), 1x 5AR4.
It delivers more than 40 Watts into 8 Ohms, (50w / 16 ohms).
AC 100 ~117 ~220 ~ 240v
This amplifier is very heavy.

I wish I could post a picture of the Q-55 but for some reason I haven't been able to post pictures on AK for well over a year. The problem is on my end, my computer. I think my wife has some 'security guard' set to high or something. Who knows.

Anyway, type in Q-55 in yahoo image or Biglobe image (Japan's search engine). Something should come up and you can see a picture.

Just typed in 'Sansui Q-55' in both yahoo image and biglobe image and both sites showed the amp. Biglobe has much more fotos and information. Biglobe is so much better than Yahoo Image in finding Sansui 'stuff'.

Here is a pair of Q-55s for sale right now in Hong Kong, but steep price. (Knew I saw it somewhere.)

Biglobe address below with Q-55.
