Huge On-Line Audio Auction, Cedar Lake Indiana

I bid and watched the end bid for the Maplenoll Athena Air Bearing Turntable. $400.00 plus taxes and fees.

What did the Yamaha P-2200 #4237 bring? Last I watched it was still stuck at $120, which is a steal.

Small world, the Yamaha 2200 was the only piece I had my eye on besides 2 or 3 speakers ... then I forgot about it. I only had the results for an Akai that I only watched because it was already up to $1000 and ended there.

Amazingly, the Readers Digest tuner and amp went for $35 and $95 respectively.
Interesting tuners: Fisher 90, Onkyo T-9 (3 of them), Phase Linear 5100 II, Onkyo T-9090 II, Magnum Dynalab FT-101, Denon TU-767 Heathkit AJ-1515 and ...

Folks should look over the auction with final bid prices listed for all the lots while it is still available on the web. The Yamaha went cheap. Search by brand name to narrow the hunt.

What you on an old iOS and can't look it up yourself? Hey don't look at me like I'm being mean. My iphone, given to me years ago and never connected by me is operating on iOS 9.5.3 and there is a lot I can't do with it. But for basic sitting next to the tv chair for quick look ups it works fine, unless you want to see one of the pictures on wiki, won't do those anymore.

got 140 plus fees and such.

It went cheap because this sale brought out folks like the ak faithful, receivers, eqs, name brands and such got the funds. High end did not. That Yamaha the $2500 Crown preamp for 350, the Onkyo T-9 tuners were all cheap. The Sansui TU-719 and TU-417 got some money as did other name brand tuners but some got passed over like the little Kenwoods. some not so great. But the money makers were the general fodder of ak solid state forum. With limited higher end gear I understand it didn't draw a lot of interest from those looking for that gear but it sure did crack open the wallets of those wanting receivers.

hmmm waiting on an official invoice, but it appears I won the IMF transmission lines, fingers crossed they are in ok condition
$35 before taxes and fees... any idea what packing and shipping will be?

And then the piece shows up on the bay. Confirmed by serial number.

The Crown DL-2 preamp, DL-2 power supply and the "A" phono module from that auction were apparently sold separately. The preamp has landed in the bay

Auction price $300+15.6% buyers premium and 7% sales tax about

$375 total

eBay ask $1200.

Pretty good markup on that one.

@beeko My cousin had IMF speakers, if they are in working condition I would call that a score!

thanks!
yeah I wasn't too familiar with them, figured it was worth a $50 max bid to see what happened

since then I've been getting pretty excited -- reading through the 111-page IMF owners thread, learning tons and tons

I go through some of that when I had a pair of the Super Compact II speakers. They were nice.

I won the ADC 16/2R Compact Disc Player but was informed earlier today by the auction company that they "can't find it".
I'm guessing they probably either accidentally damaged it or gave it to the wrong person.

Ugh that stinks!

On Wednesday I got an initial shipping estimate of $200-300, which seems fair for 60-pound speakers, definitely cheaper that driving 16 hours each way plus a hotel room. Hoping they get me a final invoice soon so I can start refreshing a tracking number webpage lol

this was the inventory from Billys Vintage Stereo.

Thanks for posting that. I scrolled down his FB page. It was sad to see how he went out. I had COVID early on. In fact, it was a couple of months before it was "officially" recognized as being in the states. Sense of taste gone, tired, couldn't complete a thought. At one point I bolted up in a cold sweat from sleeping when I saw "the light"... I think I just stopped breathing. No such word as COVID existed so I remember googling brain aneurysm. I made a "death folder" for my wife with all the pertinent paperwork in case something happened. I wish it on nobody and I feel for his family and friends that he left behind. By all accounts Billy was an upstanding and decent person. It looks like he had a great place and it looks like a loss for the audio community as a whole.
My condolences to his family.

I was only in his store a few times.
Billy was a really good guy.

Wow that place looks incredible!
I'm sorry to learn about how the auction came to be, Billy seemed like a very interesting guy.
