I bought that 45 in the PX at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona when it came out. It made news in that it was a Japanese singer using Japanese lyrics at number one on the pop charts... think it was number one, very close otherwise. Being an Army brat living on base among many who had been in the Pacific theater, never once did I hear anybody say anything derisive about it... everybody liked it, still do. Many of those same people who might have been in the Pacific war also spent time during the occupation and no doubt had good experiences in Japanese clubs where many fine singers left an impression. The record got away from me. I remember that it was very well recorded, the regular stereo version is quite good.
Nah, it doesn't have a line out. It does, however, have a line in for hooking up a CD player. All in all, a fun thing for a kid.You could always buy one for yourself.
It does have external speaker jacks though and I've got a pair of Dayton B 652's in the shed.Nah, it doesn't have a line out. It does, however, have a line in for hooking up a CD player. All in all, a fun thing for a kid.
Good thing about these is that they're built to be idiot/kid-proof & will play about anything successfully & last forever. I wish I knew where the one I think I still have is lurking, so I could preview some of the obscure, beat-up records I bring home to clean for the thrift shop I volunteer at. Save my good stuff for the good stuff.illegals?
Next upgrade. Keep an eye out for one of these. Found this at a local high school junk fest, found in an old AV closet I expect.

I've also got the matching external speaker - glorious multi-mono 2.0!
