I bought this today at my local Goodwill. It didn't come with the 12v power supply. I noticed that there wasn't a place to connect one either. So I opened it up and there's no where that I can find inside for the 12v power supply to plug in. There not even any riminants of a place where it easy.

As the Beatles once said, HELP!!!!!

What is the black connector in there with the RCA cables? Can I get a better picture? I suspect this is powered by a compatible amplifier. The manual didn't mention an AC power cable in it, so that didn't really answer our question. It's supposed to go with a DC-110Z or DC-111Z Tape Deck/Amp combo IIRC.

Ahhh.... So that might be my power... Then canny use it with a different receiver?

Possibly, you would need to find a suitable replacement for power if you cannot connect it directly to your amplifier. I am unable to find a full manual but I did see a connecting diagram that indicated all three of those cables being plugged into the amp.

Looks like I found my answer....
It connects to the Pioneer stereo double cassette deck receiver RX-540, in the back as the power source.

These 'slave unit' stereos were popular for a brief while in the later 1980's.

You may want to lift the mat up and inspect the belt right away before you invest any more money. If the belt is bad, you're in for another $25 after shipping, and you'll need a new needle and cartridge because nothing like that ever survives Goodwill, so that's $25 more.

If the belt is good, it might be worth fixing. If the belt is bad, I'd quit at the $12 loss, look for a better table and save this one to make into a record cleaning workstation.

hi
I appened to salvage a pioneer pl221z from dumpster diving, and I initialy tought the power supply was removed, then I found the manual.
Indeed the turntable is designed to be powered by the black jack 12Volt plunged into the amp. Sin I have another amp, I tried to power if directly from a generic 12V DC adaptator.

It worked fine for me but beware the +12V should be connected to the outer ring of the jack, and the ground goes to the central pin. You must connect that ground pin to your amp pin too otherwise you will ged a loud hum.

The reason why I tought the power supply had been removed by the previous owner is that the case is designed to receive an internal power supply and there is also a hole for the 220V cord to get out.

So I think I am going to modify the turntable in order to install my PS inside with a 220V cord, and remove the jack to replace it with a mose standard ground terminal.

The position of the arm in the automatic start mode was not good. I found that there is a screw to turn in order to ajust this, in the vertical hole next to the base of the arm, on its left.
