I was reading the thread about songs...

[Lazarus Short]

...that make you cry, and I thought of a song which may or may not have made people cry, but it caused such a wave of suicides in Europe, that it was banned. I think that was sometime in the jazz age. The song is "Gloomy Sunday". One time, I did see the lyrics to the song, and they were very depressing, but has anyone on this forum heard the music?

I have never actually heard the song, but have heard about it. Here are the lyrics (Translated to English):

HA! remember the scene in the Young Ones where two demons in hell are torturing some poor slob by rubbing his face with a Brillo and blasting his ears with headphones playing - what else - BARRY MANILOW! The dwarf demon dimes the volume knob and as the guy groans in agony, the demon says "Yeah, he really gets off on Barry!" That slays me every time.
