what a difference! thanks for the comparison. I think the high energy emit sounds fantastic, and apparently it's a simpler construction? (that's what graz said I think)

Did you db match them or just swap drivers?

I just swapped drivers, can't you here how good the Mundorf caps sound Lol

HE is much louder, hard to compare them...
The HE-EMIT might be slightly louder but the speakers that have them in it are 87db same as the older speakers that use the older style EMIT 87db, what also makes the HE-EMIT sounds louder is that it produces the lows that the older style EMIT don't.

You know who’s missing in this party...I like both. I’d sure like to hear the Emit-R in there. And Thanks as always taking the time okeeteekid. Happy New Year !

I don't have any EMIT-R's or I would've added it to the mix, Happy New Year!

Nice! Thanks for the comparison. You can definitely hear a difference between the 2. To me, the HE-Emit is much nicer. Smoother, less sibilant, with a wider frequency response. A shame there's no source for buying new HE-Emits. I wish I would have bought some when they went on close out sale. Only $45 a pair...!

Oh yea, what value Mundorf Silver-Oil capacitor? That couldn't have been cheap.

man you should have grabbed them all, would be worth a fortune today, I used three caps in parallel to get the right value, two 3.3 uf and one 2.2uf for a total of 8.8uf crosses them over at roughly 4500 hz, I got the caps years ago for a project that never materialized Lol I haven't bought caps in years but I do remember that they weren't that cheap.
