I'm restoring my Infinity Monitor ll's (note not lla) and have not been able to find the technical specs for the crossovers. The info for the lla is readily available, but the values for the crossover components differ. I have three crossovers (one I found on eBay to use as a reference), and they are all a bit different. I need to decide which way to go for recapping and to get a consistent pair.
The most visibly untouched one has the following:
Walsh supertweeter- 1.75uF cap +/- 10% 100v
Tweeter- 1.75uF cap, .1mH inductor
Midrange- 5.6uF cap, 1.omH inductor
Woofer- 1.0mH inductor
The eBay one:
Walsh supertweeter- 3.6uF cap 200v
Tweeter- 3.6uF cap, .1 mH inductor
Midrange- 25uF cap, 1.0 mH inductor
Woofer- 1.0mH inductor
The remaining crossover was "repaired", apparently:
Walsh supertweeter- 3.5uF cap 150v
Tweeter- 3.5uF cap and 3.1uF cap in parallel (1.64uF), .1 mH inductor
Midrange- 25uF cap, inductor missing
Woofer- 1.0mH inductor
For comparison the Monitor lla has:
Walsh supertweeter- 3.5uF cap
Tweeter- 1.75uF cap, .15 mH inductor
Midrange- 20.4uF cap, .3 mH inductor
Woofer- 1.8mH inductor
The lla midrange speaker differs from the ll, the others appear to be the same.
My inclination is to go with the following as the most consistent compromise, keeping the inductors as originally spec'd:
Walsh supertweeter- 3.6uF cap 200v
Tweeter- 1.75uF cap, .1 mH inductor
Midrange- 25uF cap, 1.0 mH inductor
Woofer- 1.0mH inductor
Thoughts? Does anyone have the original values for the Monitor ll? Any insight is welcomed!
