I regret getting rid of my def-tech bp20's for a pair of pioneer hpm 100's, because i did not have the room for the big bp20's as those need alot of room to breath, so i bought a pair of pioneer hpm 100's to replace them and regret it since, now i've come across a pair of infinity primus 360's and when i first heard them, all i can say is "WOW", they quickly replaced the hpm's, these little infinity's sound smooth, and kinda laid back mellow sound to them, and the bass is plentyfull, and these sound so sweet on my onkyo integra m-504 and p-304 set, lets just say, for the $700 price when new--these are the best bang for the buck--especially at used prices, and to top it off, i got them very cheap and they have three years left on the warrantee, i would like to hear other primus owners thoughts on these and how they like them, or if you get the chance--go audition a pair and you'll buy them quick, they have the new model--the primus 362, wich are the same speakers--just slightly diferent cosmetics, so lets hear from you other owners thoughts on these!:thmbsp::music: the bird

I owned several Primus speakers as part of my HT. I think that the 162 and 362 (formerly the 160 and 360) represent the best value in the lineup. The standmounts sound very nice especially if you can tame the port noise. Noisy cabinets and ports are the biggest issues with the Primus series. At that price you can't have everything.

I have the 362s with custom internal bracing mods and sound deadening. Sound great IMO. Only gave 220 for em at 1 yr old about a yr ago. they kik butt.

I have a pair of 360's. They work equally well with flea-powered tube amps or high-powered SS amps, and never fail to sound smooth with good bass definition and extension. They imaged like mad hooked up to an Adcom GFA-555-II. Sadly, I have too many good speakers, so these are sitting on the sidelines right now.

hey Tedrick. Thats good to know as I plan on hooking a magnavox console pull tube amp to mine. Should make a good combo. IMO they are really nice speeks. I took those goofy feet things off mine tho. Messed up the carpet.

I was also impressed with the 360, a superb value with well rounded sound, equally at home in a home theater or for two channel music listening. I thought I could detect a bit of port chuffing, up close at high volumes, and they can be quite easy to tip over especially if the feet are removed!

I moved my Primus 360's to my HT setup, But plan on A/B testing them with the Polk Monitor 10's driven by My Yamaha CR2040 this weekend. The 360's are a very nice speaker, and a real Bang for the Buck! BTW a piece of foam in the front port made an improvement in mine.
Regards,
Jim

I was under the impression that Infinity really went down in quallity compared to their older models. The newest models of Infinity's that I have are
Kappa 9's and Kappa 8's, and I think they are not as good a quality of speakers as my older QLS or RS-1b's. I am not sure as to how much older if any the RS-1b's are compared to the Kappa series, but the use of wood veneers seem pretty close in age. I never have heard the newer Infinity's but its good to hear that they still make good speakers.
