Interesting tube console - St. Louis CL

More info to come. Apparently the TT is the original setup for this particular unit, it didn't have a TV.

The attractive little beastie is my parents' custody now, though they didn't have much time to check it out tonight. It's a Philco K1721. Information is very sparse on the web, but the seller said that the tuner and amp are separate sections, and from his description of the speaker setup it's a 3-channel amp. I'll know more in the AM when it warms up enough for my mom to wander out to the truck and give it a better exam.

Plans are to gut the stock electronics, install shelving or something, rework the speaker enclosures and make it a home for my Fisher/Altec setup.

I've finally seen this beast in person. Truly a weird console - SE 7591s, stereo, both OPTs wound on one core, only one side has a place to mount a woofer. Instead of a three-channel, it's about one and a half channel. The 7591As are RCA replacements, all the rest are Philco-branded, apparently Sylvania. No FM stereo, but it has MPX provisions, so I'd date it to around '60 or '61.
