Introducing my humble stereo system

Hey everyone

So this is my little stereo setup that I have. I watch movies, play PC games and listen to music on this system and it works great for all.

My latest addition is the turntable and I'm really impressed with it.

Main components:
  • Yamaha A-S500 amplifier
  • Monitor Audio MR2 speakers
  • Monitor Audio MRW-10 subwoofer
  • Teac TN-300 turntable

Nice system. Good choice of components.

I would see if you could get the speakers away from the wall and get the right one away from the fish tank which is probably causing a reflection with the tweeter so close. Some MoPads on the desk slightly angled up would work well.

Thanks. Yes I know the placement isn't perfect. I used to have the speakers on the desk, but after I moved them on wall mounts the sound quality improved quite a bit. I was thinking to put some sound absorber pads on the side of aquarium and behind the speakers. Speakers are about 6cm away from wall.
 
I been out turntable music source for 35 years, I used to had a Marantz one and still missing it sometimes. Nice setup out there, I like that turntable look.

I don't listen from chair up close as it might seem from the pictures. Photo below is shot from a sofa where my listening position is. There's no need to aim the speakers, makes absolutely no difference, I tried it.

Good choice in components all around. Really like the light wood on the Teac deck. That system would give many around here a run for the money, not so humble. :thmbsp:
 
Put some DIY shelves under the desk. It looks much better now. Used to have a tiny stand under the desk to hold the amp. Woofer has more space now too. Now I just have to hide the remaining couple of cables :)

Looks like you live in a IKEA showroom! That's a really clean looking system. Very nice!
