Pretty sure I saw that jet at Pearson airport in Toronto near the Skyservice hanger along Derry road maybe a couple years ago, It really took me buy surprise and took a quick snap with my cell phone.
 
Although not a musician per se...Steely Dan engineer par excellence Roger Nichols holds a private certificate. BTW...he was a good friend of John Denver's & mastered a number of his albums. He was flying to Cali to meet up with John & do some flying in John's new Long-EZ when he heard of his untimely demise.

Oh...and country star Aaron Tippin is a highly-experienced pilot with quite a collection of vintage planes. IIRC his Daddy was a FBO...so it kinda came naturally.

Another "Show Business Pilot" is Michael Dorn, who played "Worf" on Star Trek. Also George Kennedy-He was a Cessna 182 driver for years. John Travolta is a VERY experienced pilot, having his own Boeing 720-a short range 707, Lockheed Constellation, & posessor of an airline ATR.
 
And we can't forget the late, great Bob Cummings, either! Started out as a "sportsman pilot" back in the 1930s & flew for years. Gotta admit Travolta sure looks the part when he's all gussied-up in his Captain's uniform. He was an "airport rat" who soloed @ 16, IIRC.

And...there's Arthur Godfrey...who qualifies under "musician" twangin' on his ukelele. Owned a DC-3.

Yeah, forgot about Buffett. He's far from my cup o' tea...but I DO have to cut considerable slack to a guy who owns a Grumman Albatross.

Dunno if he flies to all the concerts, but they arrived with their own plane at the last NL show. Guess that shows the other oldshool metal bands that like showing up on stage with a Harley who's king. :D
 
Bruce has been flying for several years...I'm not sure how steady of a job it was or is,but he's been a commercial pilot for BA for several years...I've heard he was usually happy to meet fans on board who requested to meet him.

the plane in the pic was the plane used for the whirlwind somewhere back in time world tour.there's a DVD out.flight 666..the plane carried the band,crew and equipment all in one shot,with Bruce flying as captain...i think it was chartered,obviously painted but not owned...
 
Alex Lifeson is a licensed pilot but I don't know much more than that (if he owns a plane, flys often or anymore, etc.)

I remember reading years ago (late 90's?) that he was taken up in I think a Canadian Forces Air Command fighter plane and said the experience was insane (I don't know if he took the controls at all)...iirc. :scratch2:

Also, yes there is a Iron Maiden "rockumentary" that chronicles Maiden's '08 tour and contains the concert of that tour. It came out in '09. I have not seen it.

Dexter Holland from The Offspring is a pilot. He owns several planes and jets including an L-39 Albatross Soviet fighter jet.
