Is it ever OK to go past 12 o'clock on the volume ?

The good old VCR blinking 12:00 since nobody could figure out how to set the clock....
I had a friend in high school whose father was so cheap, he put everything in the house on power strips, so nothing could pull power when it wasn’t being used. So the VCR clock only blinked 12:00 when someone was watching the television, because otherwise the power strip was turned off.

Depending, I have the Mc C2500 between 58 and 70%. Music on Tidal varies wildly and I have
to adjust album to album. Whenever the el cheapo spl "meter" on my phone says street noise..or I think 85dB is what I found damn loud in my small room. I am usu between 75 and 85 dB.

Bacon? Yes, I like bacon. Here is an example of some bacon/egg/cheese sandwiches I made.

Y'know, there was hardly any scene in any "Python" sketch or scene from one of their movies that was "Gut-Bustingly", horselaughingly, Hee-Hawingly FUNNY, yet why can almost ANYBODY from say 35-70 recite most of their more famous ones by heart ?!? I know I can, & likely most of Y'all can, too..."I Put on Women's Clothing, & hang around in Bars..." "I wish I'd been a Girly, just like my Dear Papawr..."

Yep, and in my case, I recently purchased the complete episode`s DVD box set.
Wacky, funny entertainment those group of Britisher`s created.
I also have 3 or 4 of their movies on BR/DVD, as well.
Great & timeless humor.

It's great stuff, but a bit dated now.

Newer greatness that might appeal to (at least some) Python fans is Black Adder, Red Dwarf, the British version of The Office, The Mighty Boosh, and Peep Show.

I remember years back, likely 25-30 now, I summoned up my courage, & invited a bunch of my "Redder" friends down to watch "Holy Grail", figuring they'd bail before the 1st "Sir Robin " sketch.. Surprise... They were quiet thru the whole thing, except where MOST of us Hee-Haw a bit. Even their G/Fs-Women seemed to get into it, too... One of the guys bought a tape of it, & they did like most all of us did, I think, quoted snippets that had particularly impressed them to each other & myself for quite awhile after that.. I got a kick outta turning some of my friends on to "Python", altho I don't think they really got into any of the rest of it like they did "Grail".

I was watching PBS one night when I was a teenager (rabbit ears and all although I believe PBS reception was due to the loop antenna) and all of a sudden I see exploding sheep. I was hooked. One funny memory of Monty Python was when I was with my parents at some friends of their's house and I convinced them to turn on Monty Python and we were greeted by "the girl with the biggest tits" sketch. LOL. Oh, to be a teenager....

My oldest got me the Blu-Ray box set with the catapult and little animals a couple years ago. Comes in handy at the offices mini-cube farm

Great list.

American humor is also... just different. Well, and satirical humor is rarely laugh-out-loud

That Parrot is DECEASED.. He has Shuffled Off this Mortal Coil, & Joined the Choir Invisible.. He ****in' Snuffed it.... I think THAT time, & maybe a couple others I DID manage to Hee-Haw at, but MOST of Python just wasn't THAT way.. Basically, you either Got It, or you DIDN'T.. And woe be unto you if you didn't.. I see all the new comedies coming this Fall, & I'm kinda like... Huh? Izzat yer FUNNIEST, BEST Schtuff, Chester ?!? Go take a big dose of Carter's Little Liver Pills, & come back & see me in say 3, 4 days..

Sometimes on quiet albums , I just don't have enuff umph at 12 o'clock . Is it OK to go past that on certain recordings ? As long as I do not hear distortion ?
hats why speakers have fuses. I’m always part 12 o’clock, replacing my AVA Insight +500 with two 600 watt mono blocks.
