Issue with new AR3a woofer surrounds, Help

I was in the midst of installing new surrounds on some AR3a’s. I stuck the new surround on just to see the fit, the woofer cone is a quarter inch below the Masonite ring on the frame. If I turn the woofer upside down it is even like they have been in the past. I checked my order and indeed I ordered the correct surrounds.
Has the spider given out causing the woofer to sag? I am shimming these so I could pull the woofer up even with the frame and instal the surrounds? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Your spider COULD be broken. Mine was, but I don't remember a sag. Doesn't mean it wasn't sagging , but I don't recall any difficulty gluing the new surround.

I use a couple pieces of empty TP roll cut and folded into sort of a pacman shape. Makes a little cardboard spring. Place them gently between the bottom of the cone and the basket to get the cone up a little bit. Then proceed as normal (glue to cone first, then to basket).

Thanks, they are fine. I just shimmed them which held them up to apply the surround to the cones. The surround is just laying on top in the pic with the shims. Man I’ve never seen so much glue on a woofer, these were a pain to clean up.
