I'm slowly coming into 21 st century 
a few weeks ago, tom1356 stuffed my car full of goodies from his 'magic shed'. Among the bounty, there was a modified, and slightly sick Sony scd-ce775. All the boards are damped, as is the platter, and power transformer - he had even bent a copper sheet as a top cover / shield. Very cool . . . .
it was missing the L & R audio output jacks, so today I FINALLY got around to trying my hand at repair.
Step 1: remove / desolder stereo jacks from trashed 1990 era Sony CD player.
Step 2: make little jumpers from the scd-ce775 circuit board for the jacks.
Step 3: drink too much coffee
Step 4: do a crappy job soldering the new/old jacks onto the scd-ce775 board.
the older jacks don't line up *exactly* with the rear panel hoels, but nobody sees 'em anyway
tom1356 - if you're out there - any other mods you did to this beast besides all the damping ? sounds great to me :thmbsp: now all I gotta do is find some SA CD's :yes:
Note to self . . . . before soldering, make sure NOT to drink 4 cups of coffee :stupid:
