today another AKer and I went thrift storeing and we found the album zz top afterburner cover in good+ condition for a thrift store

So I pull out the album to inspect. Well I pull it out it's not ZZtop it's the beatles white album disk #2 well like the title says it"s white in color

Is this thing rare?

I know its NOT the hole thing but this thing Is kind of cool

Hey Bob, wow, interesting find, that'll teach you to check inside the sleeve sooner. You might want to go back to that thrift to see if the rest of the White Album is buried in the bins. :yikes: :tresbon:


It's starting to feel like spring around here finally, at least in the afternoons. I need to hit some thrifts up in your neck of the woods.

If you had all the packaging including the poster and album cover, etc, it would certainly be an eye opener and worth more than a buck, but not extremely rare. I was just talking to a guy last weekend who told me how he got out of records about 10 years ago and gave away a nice copy of this release. Nice that he passed it along to someone, just wish it had been me. :tears:

Goldmine Record Album Price Guide, 3rd Edition has this:

Capitol #SEBX 1184, 1978 - $12.50 in VG condition, $25 VG+, $50 NM
 
An original & clean example of this album in its U.K. version (Apple, 1978) has a value that's about 8-10 times greater than the Goldmine citation for a U.S. Capitol (SEBX 1184) example. In the case of he U.K. version, "rare" or not, teh demand is seemingly much greater than the supply. Is the #2 disc you found an Apple U.K. or Capitol U.S.? BTW, Goldmine's quote for a clean used copy of the U.S. Capitol version is spot on.

the person in front of me got it in there bee gee cover

but thats OK cuz the person that bought the white album cover got the village people & bay city rollers
 
I have a white vinyl french pressing of the White Album I have owned since new in the late seventies. Still sounds great.
 
Well, I got a big surprise phone call from my Daughter tonight. Seems she bought a box of records for me last week and inside is the very same White album with the white vinyls, large poster, four photos, all in original plastic and she said it is all 'pristine'. I asked her to tell me what was on the label. It is Apple/EMI SMO 2051/2.
It has a French sales sticker on it. Did I get lucky or what!
