Happy New Year Everyone!!

Affordable$$Audio is proud to begin our third year of free publication with a few tweaks to the format and using the single column layout exclusively. In this issue we list our Best of 2007. In addition, we compare the H20 and Monarchy Amps, and continue our series on Recording Techniques & Technology.

Thanks for your continued support.

Nice edition. I liked the best of 2007 section!:thmbsp: Any plan to do an affordable floorstander shootout this year?

uofmtiger:
That's out of my hands, as the original monitor shootout was done completely independent of A$$A. I will say that once the shootout was published, I had to deal with all sorts of headaches.

The first product reviewed is a $900 pair of monitors (add $$$ for stands).

(Honest question - not to be a jerk or troll) What is your criteria for affordable?

First time I've read your publication.
It's done quite well IMO.
Good luck for 2008 & in the future also!

That is too bad, I found it to be a great article. :thmbsp:

Fair question. Overall, the top end is 2K, but most of our articles go below 1K. This issue was a bit out of the ordinary as usually we have a vintage piece along with inexpensive quality items. But we did cover $85 cables, and a fine pair of $595 Selah monitors. Take a gander at our other issues I think you'll find quite a bit of bargain items.
Thanks for reading!

Thank you.

My favorite article I've read so far was thr review of the GFA-535. It's examples like that that draw me back to the publication.

Cheers -

I really like the single-column layout. Before this, I hardly ever read an entire issue because I found the three columns disorienting to read on my computer screen. I think this look is a lot more eye-friendly and I look forward to continuing to enjoy the top notch content.

Clmrt:
That 535 was a little bulldog. But, it started getting noisy and in order to be a fair reviewer I needed to acquire something quieter. I will have another vintage review (a receiver) in either the February or March issue.

I really like the single column layout, much easier reading for those of us with short attention spans.:thmbsp: Great edition, too.

Hey Mark, when is the next PNW gathering?:D
