I'd say no to the woofer (being original), looks to be one of the cheap pyramid replacements, and those really muck up the sound (think muddy).

Teh woofers are not original!

Hi,
The tweeters and the mids seems to be original but the woofer is NOT!
Very hard to find replacments.
I have a pair of Jensen LS-4B but i have lost the tweetrs. I found on eBy a pair for $26 but from another model. Ii do not know if they will fitt since the seller do not have enough info about.
I like the sound of those speakers althouh some are saying that they were not the best speakers around.

Those clear mylar dome tweeters were used by both Speakerlab in their Model 2 and Rectilinear in the 5a and 7 models. Sir. Bird recently started a thread about his acquisition of a pair of Speakerlab Model 2's, so take a look for yourself:

Its too bad someone substituted replacement woofers when the foam surrounds on the originals went bad. These were probably a decent sounding speaker when stock.

i had a pair of these a long time ago.they can rock.
took everything my mac mc2300 could throw at them.
well almost, the drivers all held up well, but one of the front baffles developed a crack between the lower mid and woofer.
i immediately fixed the crack before it got to bad and they're still rocking today in my brothers garage.

I had a set of the LS-6. They are impressive to look at but oppressive to listen to. From the bigger is better 80's.
That isnt the original woof. The surrounds are blue on all the drivers and turn a weird green with age. The x-overs are merely caps and Id say the tweeters are its best asset although shrill and un repairable. I still have one of them on my shelf.

Not even close to good. I have a set of ADS bookshelf speakers that image waaay better.

Remember the AD with the guy sitting in the easy chair in front of the speaker and his hair is being blown back, the lampshade is tilting and his drink is tipping over? Thats the LS series Jensens.

Here's an ad for the Jensen LS-5:

Had a pair and thought they were decent. The woofers had been replaced with Radio Shack auto speakers. I've since passed them onto another AKer who uses them in his shop. Obviously the woofers have longevity issues :scratch2:

The ad/spec sheet states the tweets are 1 1/2 "Mylar" dome high-frequency driver that gives 170º dispersion of the high range. And clearly the original woofers had a blue ring.

Man, I love that leopard skin couch though!

That same set of drivers was used in the Jensen model "five" I have a set that I used for a long time. They are now in my work building and I have a Carver pm 900 driving them. To bad someone but those cheapo bass drivers in them. The bass driver had green foam surrounds just like the midrange does. The model five has a very odd crossover if I remember correct.
