Jim Gordon the extrodinary drummer has passed.

Some of you may not recognize his name but you have heard his drumming. He recorded on tons of albums including the Beach Boys Pet Sounds, Traffic, Derric and Dominoes, Byrds, Clapton, George Harrison, Ringo, Joe Cocker, early Steeley Dan, Nillsen, Zappa, John Lennon, Gordon Lightfoot, Carly Simon, Art Garfunkle, Alice Cooper, Duane Allman, Joan Baez, Bread, Crosby, Stills n Nash, Neil Diamond, Everly Brothers, Dr John, Merle Haggard, Lowell George, Hall n Oats, John Lee Hooker, BB King, Carole King, Seals n Croft, Leon Russel, Tom Petty and Randy Newman. Just a partial list of whos songs he made sound great. May the voices in his head finally be quite so he can have peace.

Rip Jim - thanks for the good grooves. My favourite album with Jim Gordon on it is Randy Newman: 12 Songs. I didn't know his sad story until I googled him after reading this thread. I get him and Jim Keltner mixed up.

I saw a recent interview with Steve Gadd the other day. He looks 77, but still seems to be playing well. He is probably in better shape than me.
