So, what will $895K buy you in the San Francisco Bay Area real estate market? In this case, the former home of CCR founder John Fogerty, who grew up in El Cerrito. Although I drive by this Tudor-style home nearly every day, I had no idea that one of my favorite musicians used to live here.

No affiliation.

About 10 years ago, the Fogerty's childhood home was sold and the only clue in the 2-bedroom bungalow description was the note about the recording studio in the basement.

Wow, .21 acres.... Nice looking house with a nice view. I'd have to sell my kidneys for the down payment...

Madonna's childhood home is around the corner. It's been through hell and back since she got famous. I think it's still a burned out hull.

When Johnny Cash passed away his brother put Johnny's waterfront TN home up for sale. It looked like a charming rustic place, maybe 2500 sq. ft. and IIRC listed for something reasonable like $400K. I wanted it something awful but TN is too far from MI for me to enjoy it as a vacation home.

His performance was one of the best I've seen on Late Night TV Shows (Letterman) in 2007 or 2008. He was doing one of his own tunes then went into an anti-war song about Iraq (which I don't think NBC was briefed on). Pretty strong lyrics, obviously felt passionate about it.

Joe Satriani lives in SF. I was surprised that he's got a fairly small 3-story home on a crowded block. I imagined him having a huge studio out back - http://virtualglobetrotting.com/map/joe-satrianis-house/ (Great site. Look up any celebs home. Check out Don Rickles, Cher and Ringo Starr's places.)
