Just acquired a Technics SL-P990

I bought a stack of components from a lady in Auckland, who was finally dealing with clearing her late husbands possessions. I was very happy to discover that as well as a very nice amp, cassette deck, tuner and speakers, the stack included an SL-P990.

It works perfectly, no skipping, no drawer loading problems. I was amazed to see it has EQ meters - how many CD players have those??

That display sure is sweet. And it looks beefy as hell compared to my SL-P300. Nice score!

How do you like the sound? I got mine recently and find it bright compared to my Magnavox 465. I’m still getting used to it.

I'm loving the sound - I recently parted with an original Rega Planet and I thought that would be hard to beat but I have to say, this Technics is killing it so far!
