Just received my AU-999

I received this unit today and inside it is not to bad. A little dirt that will need a cleaner to get it off.

I need to say that this is the first time I will be using a power amp and preamp in my life. I have always had receivers for my main power and input unit.

If someone could please lend a little advise for the few questions I have I would appreciate that very much. Before I became disabled I was an Executive Chef by trade. So this digging around inside the AU-999 is a little new to me.

#1...What type of cleaner would I use to clean the inside without hurting and of the parts?
I'm not looking to clean all the wires under the bottom plate just inside with the amp.

#2..This unit did not have any jumpers on the Pre-out or Main-in jacks.
I know I need to connect my Adcom Amp to the Main in jacks to use the AU-999 as a preamp but do I need to connect anything to the pre-out jacks at the same time?

#3.. What else can the Pre-out jacks be used for? Could I connect a powered sub woofer to these jacks? If so, which one of the Pre-out jacks would I connect the subwoofer cable to?

If your using your AU-999 as the pre-amp, you need to connect the pre-out jacks to the input on your adcom power amp, not the other way around. Main-in jacks are to be used if another pre-amp other than the built in one the sansui has will be used.

I use lightly compressed air to clean the dust out. Sometimes a can of air can work as well depending on the amount of dust. Grab some ciag De-Oxit for the switches and controls.

You can get Y-splitters and have your adcom and a powered sub connected to the AU-999 at the same time via the pre-out jacks on the sansui.
