KEF C75, repair, or abandon?

Good afternoon, I recently purchased a pair of KEF C75 speakers at an auction. The bottom of one of the speakers disintegrated, and it appears that they had sustained water damage at some point. On that same speaker, once any volume is intruduced, the tweeter begins to crackle. I don't know if the tweeter is damaged, or if it is an issue with the crossover. I'm not a woodworker, so any repair I would do to the cabinet would be very rudimentary. I would appreciate any advice. Thank you!

Tough call. (Side note on auctions, always go to the preview and carefully evaluate anything you are thinking of bidding on.) If the crossover is in the bottom and it was water damaged, that may be the issue. If so, repairing it and the bottom of the cab could yield a set of usable speakers. If it isn't and you need to buy another driver to fix the crackling one, it may go beyond the energy & cash you want to expend. Then they start looking like speakers you part out and move away from.
