I posted about a week or two ago about my new Kenwood integrated. Well, here's the pics of the secondary stereo I built around the amplifier. Hope you like it! Opinions welcome!

Great sound and looks! I put it together for a little over $90 including interconnects. I got Monster THX stereo cables for $5.00 on clearance at RadioShack. Awesome sound for the price!

Looks like you got some pretty good finds! Beware, though. You'll soon start looking to upgrade. This is very addictive stuff here.
 
Congrats,that is a very impressive system. Even more impressive when you factor in the price. I really like that amp,pretty in its own way.

Oh, it does. I popped in Gustav Holst's "The Planets", and it sounded magnificent. I can't wait to get better loudspeakers when I can afford them. For now, this system rocks my face off!:music::banana:

Hi-Fi is a serious addiction

Vintage audio is my new crack! My big system is built around a Kenwood KA-5002 which was my first serious vintage acquisition. That system consists of a KA-5002, a Technics SL-D3 TT, a JVC TD-W318 Dual well cassette deck, a Sony CDP-150, and a Philips DV-5960 1080i DVD player. Speakers on that system are a pair of Polk Audio Monitor 5As and an MTX Powered Subwoofer with 100W amp and 12 inch driver.

My daughter's room has an Onkyo TX-844 2 channell Audio/Video Tuner Amplifier (as Onkyo calls it, I call it a Receiver), a Samsung DVD player, my Akai GX-M50 3 Head Cassette Deck, a JVC Hi-Fi Stereo VCR, and a 20" JVC i'Art Flat screen TV. She has a pair of Mission 731pro 2 way bookshelf speakers that are bi-wired.

My HT setup is built around a Denon AVR-587 with my PC as the main audio source. Sound is connected via SPDIF from my SoundBlaster Audigy SE set to 24 bits/96Khz. Speakers are a pair of Polk Monitor 10Bs, Polk 6x9 car speakers in 6x9 boxes as surrounds. (I got them from a friend who had them sitting in his garage) They have the same Dynamic Balance drivers as my Monitor 10s, so they match up nice. The center channel is a Pioneer from Circuit City that is about 10 years old. Video is handled by a Samsung 2333HD 16:9 widescreen LCD. I have an ATi Radeon HD3650 connected via DVI for the video feed.

So, yeah, I've gone through an Onkyo TX-SV515PRO, a Yamaha CR-420 (which I sold to get the KA-6000), a JVC RX-6000VBK, a pair of JBL J220A (both sold to a friend), I have an old Sherwood receiver also (it needs work, so I may just donate it) I've been slipping further down the spiral for years now. But, I am thankful for sites such as Karma and Audiogon for helping me ditch my lower fidelity equipment in favor of better gear. Oh yeah, I used to have a pair of Cerwin Vega AT-12s that I sold because I didn't like how muddy the mid-range was. Sometimes I feel I should have kept them as HT speakers, but whatever. Long story short, I am truly a Stereo Nut!

Congrats! Judging by how much you enjoy your budget system, I can see you moving up to some very nice stuff.:music:
