Picked up a Kenwood KA-791 integrated with matching tuner, equaliser, tape deck and Fisher cdp for $8.00. Good sound and has a phono stage. Anyone know the wpc for this unit? It is a digital integrated but since it has a phono stage and weight is substantial I'm hoping that it is not too new for an i.d.. Thanks

I have the same question...

I got mine with EQ, tuner, and a couple of Jensen speakers for $16.00. The guy turned out to live about a mile and a half from me, so there was no shipping charge.

I was mostly interested in the speakers, but after hooking up the stuff, I realized that this isn't a half-bad amp. Can't find much info on it, though.

BTW, this is my first post here; I'll probably be primarily a lurker, but the content is fascinating.

Hey, I just bought the same amp on ebay, and it came with an instruction manual. Here is what the manual says about the rated power of the amp...

"120 watts per channel minimum RMS, both channels driven, at 8 ohms from 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz with no more than 0.03% total harmonic distortion. (FTC)"

By the way, when you said "I'm hoping that it is not too new for an i.d.." what exactly did you mean? I also noticed that the amp was much heavier and had more weight than most new amps, and I was wondering if you knew why that was.

Thanks

I think by "too new" hakka meant that this is a newer amp than what is usually discussed here, nothing against it per se.

Hakka, is that your rig in your avatar? Wish I could lay my hands on a Technics RS

Sorry to derail thread...

Mraudiofreak, 120W, damn quite a bit more than I thought. Been some time since I played with it but I think it had a good tranny and caps. Hadn't quite gone the way of IC's yet. It has a great sound and the matching tuner and eq. makes a nice looking rig. Thanks for the info.
Cabinover, not my rig. :sigh: But, I have enough on my hands with what I have. :thmbsp:
