Kenwood KA-9100 The LEGEND!

Hi forum. This beautiful, untouched KA-9100 came in for a service today. Needs a cap change on the PS really bad, but other than that…..fully working! Power switch shaft is broken. Still works! NIIIIIICE!

Pictured is c4 on the amp board. The scat says 100uf/35v. The cap installed (on both sides) is 1000uf /35v…….why would a tech do this?
I will revert to the original value, using a 100uf/50v Panasonic cap.

FYI:
If you're not rebuilding the amp boards, at least put a multi-turn
pot in place of that single turn. 470-500 ohms works fine.
The offset will be easier to adjust
and the offset will be more stable.
