Kenwood Supreme 600 stratospheric asking price on ebay

I'm always looking for selling prices of the kenwood model 600 out of curiosity to see what kind of value they offer considering the relative rarity and rep of these units, and I found this ebay auction yesterday with an asking price of $2775 Australian - I think it's a ridiculous ask, but am I out of touch here? Are these units running to that kind of value these days?

As per the rules of the forum, I'll state now that this auction has nothing to do with me (If I had one I sure wouldn't be selling!)

dang man, to think I worked on so much of this stuff trying to get $100.00 for some repair, including the cleaning.AND a 30 day warranty.

No.

I like the way he advertises it as a 300 wpc amp. Their only worth 600-800 U.S. mint if that.

I own one and that dude is smoking some funny stuff.

I saw a 600 last year mint in the original box offered for about AU$550, I still think I should have gone for it!

It sure is one hell of a push on the market. I think I've seen these guys trying to polish up and sell a lot of really unremarkable vintage stuff, this might be the first quality bit of gear they've come across!
