KFC Beyond Nuggets, the plant based “chicken” nugget.

I had some of the KFC Beyond Nuggets. The vegetarian chicken nuggets and I have to say they are better than the real chicken KFC is making these days. It has a great mouthfeel and they taste like an ungreasy chuck of chicken white meat. The KFC dipping sauce it comes with is very good. Given the indigestion, I experienced with the last load of real chicken from KFC. It is going to be Beyond Nuggets or nothing from KFC.

If chicken nuggets were actually "chunks of chicken white meat" I'd probably agree. The only chicken nuggets I've had that were, and tasted like it, are the grocery store brand Ian's (coated in cornmeal for the gluten-free folks).

IDK? Haven't had anything "plant based" that tasted decent. I'd give the faux chicken a try if someone else buys.

Most of these veggy things trying to be something else fall flat on their munchable faces. These KFC ckunks were not bad. But did not try them cold. Most of such junk is discussing when they cool down.

I tried the Beyond Meat burgers last yr. I was on travel living in my normal Homewood’s Suites and figured what the hell. Not to bad, checked all the boxes, taste, texture and appearance. I haven’t bought any since but wouldn’t be opposed to the idea.

I do love a good black bean burger!!

I don’t get making veg based “fake meat” then frying it in the same grease they cook the chicken in. If it’s not for folks trying to eat healthy OR vegans, who is it for?

Fake meat, mystery meat... Billy, y'all might like the sound of this recording:

One-album wonders outta Carlinville, Illinois and probably recorded at Blackburn College in 1968.

PS: Reissued on the Shaddocks label ~ 15+ years ago.

Yeah we just eat a heathy (non-merican sized) potions (4-6oz) of high quality (not grocery store) protein durning a meal. We also try and do 3 “vegan” days a week. My B-I-L just went vegan for health reasons but loves hamburgers and hotdogs. I think these products when done well are great for people like him.

Same here on the portions and high quality meat. My point was if it’s fried in chicken grease it’s not vegan at all. No way KFC is installing new fryers at all locations to fry the fake stuff.

I would agree but I am sure they would in the right market. I was just back home (Ohio) the week after xmas, to many 300#er's everywhere for it to be a thing there.
Same down here. If they ARE doing it right in some areas, there is no info on KFC’s site about it. :dunno:

It is very interesting to look at the menus of American Fast food joints in other countries, McDonalds is a good example. No beef or pork in India. They have vegetarian sandwiches that are not trying to be something else. In Indonesia I would love to try their Ayam, and Ikan menus. Ayam is all Chicken, and Ikan is fish.

Nothing beats the mystery meat pinkish/white burger off the food cart on the pier in Palma de Majorca. Pounded 2 every morning (3-4am) coming back to the ship. Almost as good as a smash samich by the Naval Base gate in Toulon France.

Spent a few weeks in Palma myself, what a fantastic port. We would hit a place called Mom’s and she would fry us up burgers every night I didn’t have duty. Those were the days

Remember being introduced to brats & hartbrotchen mit löwensenf outside the fence on a hitch in Germany.
Good stuff!
