After having languished behind the top contenders all season, Kimi Raikkonen (Finland) finally caught up at the last race of the season in Brazil to take the 2007 Formula One World Championship, one point ahead of #2 and #3, in a nail biter season finish:

This is Kimi's first F1 World Championship, in his first year for Ferrari: He has been promising for many years, but has been suffering from engine failures, accidents, and other mishaps to never make it all the way to the top. His previous Championship positions have been:

2001 #10 (his first year in F1)

Kimi's is the third Finn to win the F1 Driver's Championship (Keke Rosberg, 1982, and Mika Hakkinen, 1998, 1999).

Im happy for Kimi,but I feel bad for the kid Hamilton.If he hadnt made that stupid mistake in the last race,he'd be champion now.I think Kimi has suffered from being in the shadow of,and being compared to Mika Hakkinen.

Hamilton's year just fell apart in the end, hard to imagine everything could go so wrong for him in just 2 races. I guess the pressure just got to him as the mistakes where all of his own doing but it was his rookie season - he'll be the favorite next year.

Congrats to Raikkonnen who really came on strong the last half of the season. I'm just so glad Alonso didn't win it!
 
I'm just glad ANY manufacture won it, Other than those cheat'in punks at Mcclaren. Kimi has been a warrior for along time. Ferrari won it, Despite Mcclaren having all there 07 race set-ups.
