Klipsch KG3.5 followed me home

Ain't this boogie a mess
Nah, I don't think my wife will buy that line either. I picked up a pretty rough pair from a CL seller today. One corner was split on one of them, and one of the woofers had tape on it, but I could not hear any issue with it. They sounded pretty good, except that they were sitting on a stone floor in a room made mostly of glass. I paid $40, which considering the condition is probably a fair price. I have wanted some Klipsch for awhile, & I can get an idea of the sound even if the cosmetics are bad. They will spend most of the time in the man-cave or garage, so cosmetics aren't a big deal. I will get some pics after the rain stops and I can bring them in.

I couldn't really get a good idea because of the listening conditions, but the bass seemed to overwhelm the mids and highs. Think stuffing a sock in that front port would help the bass?

Regards,

D-Ray

I've got the 3.2s, I'm sure they don't sound the same as the 3.5s. While they have strong bass, I'd not say they are lacking at all in highs. Mids, maybe. Sometimes I find myself wishing for just a tad more midrange warmth, a little more presence to vocals. But the clarity of the highs is very, very good. See how they sound when you get them home. $40 is a steal!

I got a pair of the 3.5s from CL a few months ago. I use them in my garage with a 135 watt Sansui (not sure of Mod. No.). They sound sweet to me. I am comparing them with a pair of C/V 312s, so you be the judge.

they weren't my favorite speaker they just weren't very musical to me got them with a ksw-12 sub and kv-2 center right around the time I also picked paradigm 3's, mini monitors and a cc-350 center

kept the paradigm's and the sub as I thought they sounded better. As home theater fronts the klipsch would have done the job I just had the full paradigm system vs the kg's and a klipsch center that didn't have a horn

now if you have a chance to come across a klipsch ksf-c5 center that and the kg's would make a really sweet front/center combo for a home theater
