Howdy- I am looking at restoring a Lafayette KT-630 amp and can only find a schematic and info on a KT-615. Does anyone know of any differences or can lead me to a correct resource? Any info is helpful- Thanks Jackson

The KT-630 amplifier was 30 watts per channel.. We only printed one manual for the KT-630. Wasn't a bad amplifier for $40 back in 1966. It was both an assembly and an operating manual. I have the manual.

I have one, new caps....works fine, except the right channel drops completely every now and then and I can't figure out what the left and right amplifier sliders actually do. Then can both be on the right and my left channel still works.

Any help?
 
It looks to have the same tube complement as the Pioneer SA-400, and from the same era. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a rebadged/tweaked version, and very nice too!
 
I had a KT630 that my dad constructed for me when I was in college. It was a nice amplifier. Unfortunately I no longer have it.

The left and right amplifier switches select either the left or right inputs to feed to that channel's amplifier. For example, if the left amplifier switch is in the "right" position, the right input is sent to the left channel amplifier. For normal stereo, the left switch is in the "left" position and the right switch is in the "right" position. Switching both reverses the channels. Putting both switches in the "left" position feeds the left input to both channels, etc. Not real useful, but that's what it is. A stereo-mono switch would have been nice instead.

Thank you! So the sliders enable the output to the amplifier and that is fixed. The position of the slider determines what input channel will be put to that amplifier. Based upon that, my right amplifier is not working most of the time. I was hoping it was just a switch cleaning that was needed, but it might be something more.
