I was helping a friend clean out his storage area, we pulled out a Lafayette LR-100. I remember Lafayette, but don't know much about the brand. Anyone have any info about this? Thanks John

LRE from Lon-GUY-land (Syosset... that's LI, right?).
I don't know the LR-100 off the top of my head; I'll check the catalog stash and report back.

Meanwhile, here's a completely gratuitous photo of a Lafayette LR-1500T receiver that followed me home from the swap pile at the dump one day...

Lafayette is probably the brand that started me down the road to hi-fi. I was probably 11 or 12 when I stumbled across a Lafayette catalog. I'd never seen "separates" before. Stereos were those giant wooden consoles. I drooled over that catalog, and newer ones, for what seemed like eternity.

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

My Sansui 2000X suffered a critical failure the other day. It will be off to the tech shortly. I swapped in a LR-100 I picked up and cleaned recently and it sounds nice. Been listening to LPs this morning and it sounds quite similar to my 2000X. A great place holder!
