A few months back I picked up a Lafayette LR-3030 off Craigslist in the next town over. It was my first vintage audio purchase and now I'm hooked.
It's a great warm sounding piece.
I liked it so much that I just picked up a LR-5555 on ebay for $165.
I have seen the Lafayete models come as the LR-5555 or the LR-5555A. There's not much out there as far as documentation on these but from what I can see in the pictures online the R models appear to have a few extra lights on the front.
Does anyone know the difference between the two models?
Also I'm looking at maybe picking up one of the Marantz 22xx series receivers. How does their sound compare to the Lafayette?
