Leather Turntable Mat?

I was looking at mats to replace the stock felt mat on my TT. Found this on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Leath...3&keywords=Turntable+Record+Player+rubber+mat

Anyone have any experience or thoughts? Sounds interesting but I'm skeptical.

Been using/making deerhide mats for awile. Started with deerhide on a Planar 3 back in the late 70's

I have one of marc's deerhide mats and I enjoy it. I'm using it on my Rega Planar 2 with the glass platter and I like that combo a lot.

I'm using the Audio-Technica AT-LP120-USB

I have one that was supplied new with my Victor TT-101, smooth one one side and
rough on the other late 70,s.

Best to try one out and see for your self. Note any height change may require VTA
tweaking.
