Thanks Sturgus, I just found out from Ilikevinyl that my MC coil can run on a MM input. I'm using an HH Scott LK72 integrated tube amp. I also use a Pioneer SX1050 receiver (switch between them). I have a couple Dual TTs I use but I'm going to give the Linn another try. If its not much better then my Duals I might try and sell. I'll reach out to you if I go that route.

Well Linn's do require a bit of TLC, but just like a good woman with the right amount of foreplay they will sing! That HH-Scott is a nice peice of gear.
I can't tell from the top but I can move the whole are assembly side to side so I would say its not to tight. Maybe not tight enough.

The nut shouldn't be loose, snug from tightening with fingers only!
Because your Rega doesn't have a VTA adjustment, your Goldring my like the tonearm angled a bit differently for best sound. Try putting something very thin underneath your platter mat and see if you like the sound better. Or, use a thinner platter mat and check the sound with that.
Your Linn should sound very nice! The sub chassis bounce should be vertical with no lateral movement!

Yes, tonearm shouldn't move side to side! Should be tightened down better. Just use your fingers, no wrench!
