... this was in the local craigslist but about an hour away from me, I couldn't arrange to be there fast enough:

"Moving and must get rid of some stuff - FREE - must pick up

1978 Pioneer Stereo Receiver
JVC Stereo Cassette Deck
1 old turntable
3 Sony portable CD, tape and radio decks
Akai reel to reel recorder"

depending on model and working condition don't knock yourself

I missed out on a Sansui 'T' FM antenna on eBay about 2 years ago, it went for $35, and I'm still freaking out 'big time' on that one. Even freakin at this moment just thinking about it! DARN, where was my head????????????? What was I thinking????????????????
Really screwed that one up and there will never be another for sale. Sometimes ya just screw up.

And...then there was an amp. An AU-X701 Sansui, NOS, in the box, still wrapped up, it went for $173, 2 months ago. Another major brain fart. That was a super amp.

That's the only 2 that slipped away.

On the bright side, I just got a Japanese CD of the Ramones first album! LOL :>)

I missed out on a Sui 881 for $20.. dang.. But for a while I thaught that I'd never find decent gear cheap again, but after looking a bit, theres still plenty to be had!

I about walked out of a thrift store one time before a very well tucked away Revox B 225 caught my eye. I literally was that close to not getting that one. It was in near pristine condition (working quite well) too...of course it was too weird looking for anyone else to understand what it was so I got it for $20. :D

Consistency is the key. Just remember to look everyday (if you have that kind of time, I'd say go for it). I've seen some retardedly good scores over the past year, just by remembering to at least go and check stuff out (CL, ebay, thrift stores, garage sales...you know)
