Looking for a certain song.

I'm having trouble finding a song I've heard a couple times on a classic rock station. The song I'm looking for sounds just like the very beginning of Green Day's song "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." The song I'm looking for has that same rythem all the way through it, it is of just a lead guitarist and a lead singer, no drums, no bass, it's not a soft ballad either, kind of like a hard rock tune. Sorry to repeat myself but if you've ever listened to Green Day's song the first 8 to 10 seconds of their song, the guitar solo, sounds just like the one I'm looking for. Thanks. Dave

Oops-- of course, you are right! Back when my mind worked, I used to catch other people making that mistake.. Thanks for catching it! One day, sitting in Boulder, Colorado, everyone around me sang ONLY, "Teenage Wasteland", and not another word from the song. The Who, and Jethro Tull were onstage that fine warm day. A most enjoyable time it was... although there was the strange scent of burning plants in the air:D at Folsom Field; where Buffaloes roam...:yes:

Were talking about a song JAM packed with John Entwistle and Keith Moon on bass and drums...:music:

I can't really think of hard rock song with no bass or drums as far as the original topic....:scratch2:

Thanks everyone for trying, however, I know who "The Who" are, and it's not Teenage wasteland, I know that song but that's not the one I'm looking for. I'm not to familiar with Green Day either, all I know is this, the very fist part of Green Day's song Boulevard of broken dreams, the first 8 seconds, the guitar part, sounds like the rock song I'm looking for. Thanks.

This public humiliation is just too much for me to deal with! :music: I will now escape into my own little world of music of totally unknown origins and played by mysterious musicians... :thmbsp:

Why don't you call the station and ask them ? - don't let it burn you up !

Some stations in the UK have a daily playlist on their website...

just my 3 ha'pence worth (=0.02$ :D)

Hyperion beat me to it, try the stations website, many off them have online playlists, and if that doesn't work, try to get them on the phone. Make sure you know what day and time you heard the song, or you won't have much luck!
 
Ok.. here's one more chance for me to appear totally stupid... might it be Led Zeppelin's "Battle of Evermore"? Jimmy's nod to Tolkien... it does not meet the full criteria, as there is mandolin and guitar, and two voices (Sandy Denny). At least it is an enjoyable brain stretching exercise :)
